Policy

Students will not be allowed to wait outside of the studio for a ride home. Parents are expected to escort their children both to and from the studio.

Tuition is due on the first class or private lesson of each month. See the tuition page for a schedule and tuition amounts for each month. Students taking private can re-schedule lessons with 24 hours notice.

Students are expected to attend all classes as scheduled. Missed classes cannot be rescheduled, or made-up, and monthly tuition for each month will not be adjusted for late or absent students. Private lessons can be rescheduled with 24 hours’ notice of cancellation and made up before the next week’s lesson.

All students are expected to practice daily at home and parents are strongly encouraged to invest in either an upright or grand piano for their child’s home practice. Preparatory level students are required to practice a minimum of 30 minutes daily, students in Certificate of Merit Levels 3 and 4 are required to practice a minimum of 45 minutes daily, and students in Certificate of Merit Levels 5 and above are required to practice a minimum of one hour daily.

Students need to bring all of their lesson books in a book bag, a pencil, and a three-ring binder to every lesson. Your child’s name should be written on the outside cover of each lesson book.

Parents will have the option of registering their child in the Certificate of Merit Program in November.
